Sensor & Machine Vision Glass Windows

Protective and optical-interface glass windows for CMOS, CCD, machine-vision cameras, scanners and industrial sensors.

Engineering result: Protect the camera or sensor while controlling transmission, reflections, contamination, mounting geometry and machine-vision image quality.

01 — Engineering Overview

Technical Content and Specifications

ANTGLASS manufactures machine vision glass windows, camera cover glass, LiDAR covers and optical sensor windows for automated inspection and sensing systems.

The window protects the detector without blocking the field of view or changing the intended spectral response. The correct component combines optical-zone control, mounting geometry, filtering, coating orientation, cleanliness and environmental protection.

Product Types and Selection

Material Options

ANTGLASS uses N-BK7 optical glass, K9, fused silica, borosilicate, aluminosilicate and alkali-free glass for clear sensor windows. Colored filter glass adds UV, visible or infrared pass/block functions. Corning EAGLE XG glass supports thin, stable sensor and electronic interfaces.

Specifications to Put on the Drawing

  • Sensor wavelength and illumination band
  • Field of view and clear aperture
  • Reflection or filter requirement
  • Coating side and orientation
  • Housing, gasket, adhesive or seal geometry
  • Particle, residue and cosmetic limits

ANTGLASS Manufacturing Capabilities

ANTGLASS manufactures circular, rectangular and custom sensor covers with holes, slots, notches, chamfers, polished edges and defined coating or printing zones. Cutting, CNC machining, grinding, polishing and ultrasonic cleaning are combined in one controlled route.

Inspection, Cleaning and Packaging

The active optical area is inspected separately from the mounting edge. ANTGLASS checks dimensions, feature position, surface defects, contamination, coating zones and package orientation. Functional sides are identified for assembly.

Typical Applications

These windows connect directly with optical filter glass components, camera assemblies, LiDAR, barcode scanning, wearable sensors, industrial automation and medical sensing.

Design Rules for Sensor and Machine Vision Windows

The active optical zone should follow the complete field of view at the real working distance, not only the detector dimensions. A housing that places the glass close to a wide-angle lens may require a larger clear aperture and tighter control of printed borders, adhesive squeeze-out and edge shadowing.

Reflection control depends on the light source, camera angle, polarization and coating side. Filter glass is selected from the detector response and illumination spectrum. For LiDAR and time-of-flight systems, both the emitted wavelength and the return path must pass through the window with the required angular performance.

  • Show the field-of-view cone and prohibited obstruction zone.
  • Specify wavelength, angle of incidence and required pass/block bands.
  • Separate cosmetic zones from bonded or hidden mounting zones.
  • Identify printed, blackened, coated and adhesive areas.
  • State particle, fiber, fingerprint and water-mark limits for assembly.

ANTGLASS also manufactures precision optical windows, glass cover plates and custom filter components for complete sensor-interface programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is machine vision glass?

Machine vision glass is a precision protective or optical window positioned in front of a camera, detector or illumination system. It protects the equipment while maintaining the field of view and the required spectral response.

Which materials are used for sensor glass windows?

ANTGLASS uses N-BK7, K9, fused silica, borosilicate, aluminosilicate, alkali-free glass, colored filter glass, sapphire and infrared materials according to the wavelength and operating environment.

Can ANTGLASS manufacture LiDAR and camera cover glass?

Yes. ANTGLASS manufactures LiDAR cover glass, camera cover glass, scanner windows and sensor windows with custom outlines, holes, slots, chamfers, coating zones and sealed mounting interfaces.

Can a sensor window include an optical filter function?

Yes. A sensor window can use colored filter glass or a specified coating to pass, block or attenuate UV, visible or infrared bands. The wavelength range, angle of incidence and coating side should be stated in the RFQ.

How are machine vision windows cleaned and packed?

ANTGLASS provides ultrasonic cleaning, controlled rinsing and drying, low-contact handling, surface separation and protective packaging. Functional or coating sides can be identified for assembly.
