Optical & Sensor Interface Glass Solutions

Engineering support for optical interfaces, sensor protection, machine vision, CMOS, CCD and instrument glass components.

Engineering result: Define the optical interface, protective function, material and surface zones before choosing the glass and manufacturing route.

01 — Engineering Overview

Technical Content and Specifications

ANTGLASS manufactures machine vision glass, optical sensor windows, camera cover glass and filter components for imaging, inspection and automated sensing systems. These are precision optical and protective components for instruments and sensors—not architectural building windows.

The glass component protects the camera or detector while maintaining the required optical path. Depending on the system, it may also filter UV, visible or infrared wavelengths, resist abrasion and chemicals, control reflection, provide a sealed interface or support direct bonding and coating.

Optical Requirements to Put on the Drawing

  • Working wavelength or spectral pass/block requirement
  • Clear aperture and allowed edge exclusion zone
  • Surface quality and cosmetic inspection area
  • Flatness, transmitted wavefront, parallelism or wedge requirement
  • Coating type, coating side, mask area and edge clearance
  • Mounting, sealing, bonding and environmental conditions
  • Cleaning, particle control and protective packaging requirement

Manufacturing for Camera and Sensor Assemblies

ANTGLASS provides custom cutting, CNC contour machining, drilling, slotting, chamfering, edge grinding, edge polishing, surface grinding, lapping, optical polishing and ultrasonic cleaning. Components can be supplied as circular windows, rectangular covers, stepped parts, filters, discs, wafers and custom outlines.

Inspection is matched to the optical and mechanical function. Dimensional measurements confirm fit and feature position; optical and visual inspection checks clear aperture, surface defects, coating zones, edge condition and cleanliness. Protective packaging keeps the optical surfaces separated and identifies the coating or functional side.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is machine vision glass?

Machine vision glass is a precision optical or protective component placed between a camera, sensor or illumination system and the operating environment. It can transmit the required wavelength, protect the sensor, control unwanted spectral bands and provide a clean mounting interface.

Which materials are used for optical sensor windows?

ANTGLASS manufactures sensor windows from N-BK7, K9, fused silica, quartz glass, colored filter glass, borosilicate glass, aluminosilicate glass, sapphire and infrared optical materials.

Can ANTGLASS manufacture filter glass for cameras and sensors?

Yes. ANTGLASS cuts, grinds and polishes colored filter glass and manufactures round, square and custom-shaped sensor filter windows for UV, visible and infrared systems.

Can optical windows include holes, slots or blackened areas?

Yes. Windows and covers can include mounting holes, slots, notches, chamfers, polished edges, coating zones and project-defined masked or blackened areas.

What optical requirements should be included in the RFQ?

State the working wavelength, transmission or blocking requirement, clear aperture, surface quality, flatness or transmitted wavefront requirement, parallelism or wedge, coating, cosmetic zone and environmental exposure.
